EFFICIENT ENERGY GENERATION

Today, the need for substitute fuels has risen drastically because of the impact that conventional forms of fuel have had on the environment. Alternative forms of fuel are substances which have a high calorific value like mechanically dewatered sewage sludge, tar, paint sludge or slaughterhouse waste. Putzmeister provides eco-friendly solutions to waste management and on shore drilling that follow a sustainable and efficient process. We provide modern pumping systems and technology that cater to the oil and gas sector, ash disposal process, sludge incineration systems, cement industry and coal sludging process.
Economical and ecological disposal solutions
Today, one of the most important factors to consider while burning coal for electricity is how to dispose of waste in an eco-friendly manner.
After burning coal, various coal combustion residues (CCRs) such as fly ash, bottom ash, boiler slag and flue gas desulfurization material, commonly referred as to coal ash, remain at the incineration facility.
The Putzmeister Eco Treat Process runs using hydraulic-driven piston pumps, and is the most economic and sustainable way of treating CCRs. Since Putzmeister KOS piston pumps do not have any valves between the inlet and outlet of the pump, even coarse particles can pass through the pump without interrupting the flow process.
What makes these pumps truly remarkable is their amazingly low water consumption. They operate reliably with high dry-solid contents up to 85%. This translates into an extended lifetime of the disposal site and/or its size can be reduced.
The main advantage however, is an ecological one: large amounts of contaminated water can be reduced to a minimum, as DSS or paste systems fulfill the latest Zero Liquid Discharge Regulations of the EPA.
Highlights: A process compliant with Zero Liquid Discharge Requirements. Low operation and investment costs. Power consumption can be reduced by 50%. 90% water consumption reduction compared to Wet Sluicing Technologies. Minimal risk evaluation of the landfill compared to dams and dikes. Installed pipeline material wall thickness can be reduced by 80%. Improved use of the land fill due to surface stacking methods. Minimal dust suppression necessary
Economical and ecological disposal solutions
Highly durable and resistant systems designed to withstand the harshest operations.
Our range of sludge handling systems
Putzmeister offers complete turnkey solutions for the storage, transport and feeding of refuse in combustion chambers. The co-incineration of mechanically dewatered sewage sludge with highly effective flue gas in existing coal-fuelled power stations is an economic and meaningful alternative to the incineration in household rubbish plants or even in mono incineration facilities.
With the recent wave of increased government efforts to look into sustainability and eco-friendly means of waste disposal, thermal incineration has become an effective option.
Nowadays, it is mandatory to ensure that all disposal of dewatered sewage sludge in incineration plants is eco-friendly. This process can be integrated into newly planned plants, as well as retrofitted in older plants. The addition of sewage sludge does not affect the reception of household waste or the discharge and metering of rubbish into the combustion chambers. Besides the fact that both materials are burnt together, there is no common interface between both disposal lines.
To ensure that the multiple hearth furnaces are used to their full capacity, not only can one’s own sewage sludge be handled but also external sludge from surrounding waste water treatment plants.
The Putzmeister Solid Pumps play a huge part in offering a sustainable, fast and economical end-to-end sludge handling system.
Highlights: Putzmeister looks into the entire sludge incineration process from beginning to end. Foreign bodies contained in the sludge can be conveyed without interference thanks to the large cross-section opening of the S-tube pump. Easy odor control of the system as the sludge is covered inside the pipeline. Low maintenance and wear costs due to decades of experience and our expert knowledge base
OUR RANGE OF SLUDGE HANDLING SYSTEMS
Extremely durable, low maintenance systems equipped for the most extreme tasks.
The movement to alternative fuels starts with the movement of alternative fuels.
The need for substitute fuels has risen because of the environmental and economical impact that conventional forms of fuel have had on the world today.
In the cement industry, Putzmeister has formulated a method of storage, transport and feeding of alternative fuels for the production of cement.
Alternative fuels can be mechanically dewatered sewage sludge, tar, paint sludge or slaughterhouse waste - substances which have a high calorific value. These fuels are received in silos, either individually or mixed together.
Putzmeister’s high-density solids pumps convey the substitute fuels, either to the cold side of the rotary kiln as additives or as a source of energy, or to the hot side as fuel.
The Putzmeister’s S-tube remarkable technology makes it possible to transport material even if they contain foreign bodies, with a volume of between 2 and 7 m3/h fed into the cement kiln.
Highlights: Putzmeister provides 360 degree solutions right from sludge reception to the incineration. Foreign bodies contained in the sludge can be conveyed without interference thanks to the S-tube pump’s large cross-section opening
